-Information about Admissions

All candidates who wish to apply to Rosemont College's Acupuncture Program must first obtain an application form from the "Service régional d'admission du Montréal métropolitain" or SRAM. Application forms are available at all secondary schools and all CEGEPs across the province, from the end of January.
Completed application forms must be sent to the SRAM (Service régional d'admission du Montréal métropolitain) by March 1. This program begins in the Fall semester; new students are not admitted in the Winter term.

As the program is financed by the Ministry of Education of Quebec, priority is given to Quebec-born students and permanent residents of Quebec.

Foreign students are admitted into the program when circumstances allow.
Special academic regulations and tuition fees apply:

  • The candidate must first pass a French language proficiency test.
  • The candidate must enrol in the full-time D.E.C. Acupuncture Program, and must successfully complete all General Education and Program-Specific courses.

-Tuition Fees (2011-2012)

A non-refundable $80 application fee and $120 in student fees per semester are charged to any full time student.

Tuition is free for Canadian citizens or landed immigrants with permanent residence in Quebec taking at least four courses per semester.

-The Student Profile

The average of age of students in Acupuncture is 26.7 years old. Most are college or university graduates, or have completed their college-level General Education courses. Although previous studies in the area of healthcare are not compulsory, many students come to the program from disciplines such as nursing, physiotherapy, massage therapy, psychology, dental hygiene, nutrition
and so on.
A first selection of candidates is based on academic performance (taking into consideration secondary-school, college, or university academic records when applicable). The selected candidates will be asked to an interview. The goal of the interview is to evaluate the following criteria: the candidate's interest in health, care giving, and biology; personal qualities such as maturity, listening-abilities, and open-mindedness; the pertinence of acupuncture as a career
choice for the individual; the candidate's ability to pursue intense study; and the candidate's entrepreneurial abilities.
For candidates coming directly from secondary schools, attention is focused on evaluating their level of maturity as well as their reasons for choosing acupuncture as a career.

Foreign students are also required to complete the interview process.
