Mite found in a urinary sediment. We found this in a urinary sediment. We thought first it is Sarcoptex scabiae (*) but we asked a renowned parasitologist who said it is not. However, they confirmed it is a mite from either urine or contamination from skin. The parasitologist also indicated an articles of some Chinese scientists who found those mites in urine. "Acaroid mite, intestinal and urinary acariasis". http://eprints.kfupm.edu.sa/119777/1/119777_1.pdf. Dr Serban Nicolescu We suggest a complement reading of this article: "Clinical Significance of Mites in Urine" http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1317186/ (*) A mite infesting the skin that causes scabies (**) Some mite species goes up the uréthra to lay their eggs in the bladder. Eggs found in urine can be mistaken for artefact or eggs from an other parasite
